Your spark starts a current.
People didn't stop caring. They stopped believing it mattered.
Climate change is not only an environmental problem. It is also a human one. People still care. What they have lost is the sense that their own part adds up to anything.
ClimateCurrent brings people and companies together to fund climate work, and lets you follow what your part sets in motion. It's our movement and yours. Your part makes the difference.
Companies can take part now. Joining for yourself opens in November.
Caring was never the thing in short supply.

The company
What the company does.
ClimateCurrent brings people and companies together around climate work. Companies can take part now and pay for places for their people.
ClimateCurrent uses contributions to fund methane work: first by co-financing projects that can't go ahead without extra funding, then with its own first site. It reports openly on how contributions are used and what they help to achieve.
Here for yourself? Keep your place and follow the story.
The cycle
Why participation stalls.
For decades people have recycled, donated, voted, changed their habits and backed climate initiatives wherever they could. Emissions kept rising. They watched targets postponed, policies turn over with every election, and record temperatures arrive on schedule.
So a belief took hold, and it was not unreasonable. The less people believe their actions matter, the less they take part. The less they take part, the smaller the collective effect. And the smaller that effect, the more the original belief is confirmed.
ClimateCurrent exists to break that cycle.
Four steps, each one feeding the next. Press the button.
Where the money goes
Where your
support goes
To start, we'll co-finance methane projects that can't go ahead without extra funding, so your support makes real work happen that otherwise wouldn't. We're choosing that partner now.
At the same time we're building towards our own first site: steady monthly support lets us finance a whole site at once with a lender, instead of saving for years.
You'll follow every step: the projects we co-finance, the site we choose, who helps finance it, and what it does once it runs.
We look for work that wouldn't happen without us.
This is how we choose.
Does our money make it happen? We look for work that would not go ahead without extra funding.
Does it work in time? We look for an effect within years, not decades.
How much warming does it avoid per euro? Among the work we can fund, we prefer what avoids the most.
If the work earns certificates, we may sell them, and what a sale brings in goes back into methane work.
How a current forms
Your spark
starts a current.
Our logo is drawn from 141 dots. Orange on the left, where it starts small. Deep blue on the right, where it breaks. Read it left to right. You just read the plan.
Spark
One person decides their concern goes somewhere. Usually on a weeknight, usually after a bad headline.
Ripple
Somebody notices. A colleague, a friend, the group chat. Taking part stops looking naive.
Current
As sparks add up, the collective effect becomes visible. Belief comes back when people can see it.
You
Keep your place and follow the movement. Companies can take part now, with their own page on Teal Pages.

How it works,
start to finish.
Five steps between caring about the climate and following what your part sets in motion.
01 / 05
Start with your company.
Companies can take part now. Your company pays for a place for each of your people. Even if it's just you, your company can start a current.
02 / 05
Your people decide.
Each of them decides whether to join, in their own name, and what they share. Joining for yourself opens in November.
03 / 05
The money goes to work.
To start, we'll co-finance methane projects that can't go ahead without extra funding. At the same time we're building towards our own first site.
04 / 05
Follow every step.
The projects we co-finance, the site we choose, who helps finance it, and what it does once it runs. The tonnes you see are a cautious estimate of what your support helped make possible.
05 / 05
Share your own link.
Introduce the people around you with your own link. Whether they take part is their decision alone.
Who it is for
For people who still want to change what happens next.
The platform is for people and organisations who want their concern about climate change to lead somewhere.
For your company
Companies, and the colleagues they invite, can take part now. Your company pays for a place for each of your people, and they join because they choose to.
For you
Joining for yourself opens in November. Bring the doubt with you; it is welcome here.
The principle
Think locally.
Act globally.
Your concern starts at home: the street that floods, the summer that never cools. The fix starts wherever it does the most good. There is one sky, and every country sits under it.
Think locally
Start with what you can see from your window. Caring begins there, and it needs a place to go.
Act globally
Methane ignores borders. It spreads through the air we all share, so a cut in one country slows warming in every other.
Why methane
Methane works fast.
So do the cuts.
Methane leaves the atmosphere in roughly a decade. Cut it now and you slow warming within the years you will live through. So we keep looking at it.
≈80×
The warming from a tonne of methane, compared with a tonne of CO₂, over the 20 years after release.

The cost of caring
You still care. The missing link between a rinsed container and a change you can see wears that concern down. Another instruction will not repair it.
2 min read MethaneWhy methane. Why now.
Methane warms hard and lasts roughly a decade in the atmosphere. Cut it now, keep it cut, and near-term warming responds. Delay spends that advantage.

No. The tonnes you see are a cautious estimate of what your support helped make possible, never your own reductions. Taking part does not offset emissions and does not make you, or anything you do, climate-neutral. How we handle evidence
