In more depth

Stakeholder, explained.

Stakeholder analysis usually sorts people by how much a decision affects them and how much influence they hold over it, which shows where engagement effort should go. EU sustainability reporting separates affected stakeholders, whose lives or environment a company's activities touch, from the users of its reports, such as investors, and both inform its materiality assessment.

Name the stakeholders. A report that thanks its stakeholders without saying who was asked, how, and what changed as a result tells readers little. Consultation records views. Informed consent gives people the power to refuse, a far higher bar for projects on community land.
